Citi Society Challenge Finalists 2014

After a review of our proposal to Citi to win £1000 for our society, the Divas Varsity Squad are very excited to announce that we have been selected as one of three finalists BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP!

As you may or may not be aware, due to cheerleading being a non-typical sport in UK, the Divas receive little funding from Team Durham which means cheerleading is expensive business, especially with our travel to national competitions and the need for hiring a practice venue which is suited to our stunting, jumping and somersaulting!

In order to win the challenge, the Divas must secure the highest number of votes from our fellow students. A vote for us will help us to remove the financial burden. In return, we promise to continue our charity efforts, having most recently raised over £800 for a local Down’s Syndrome Centre by switching the glitter for dirt in a ‘Tough Mudder’ style obstacle course.

The best way to vote for us is to come along to the Citi Corporate Presentation in Durham on Tuesday 21st October at the Radission Hotel from 6.30-9pm. The presentation will be a fantastic opportunity to learn more about graduate roles and internships offered by Citi and meet a range of Citi staff to find out about their experience (over drinks and canapés of course!). Any votes cast at this presentation will count for two votes so please please come along! There's no need to book, just turn up to the event. To join our Facebook event - click here. Online voting will open for one week from October 22nd (we'll remind you nearer the time!). Votes cast online will only count for one vote however, so if you can come along to the Citi event, please do. We will be around the Durham campus over the next month or so, encouraging you guys to vote for the Divas and may even be putting in a few surprise performances so watch this space!
