ICC Scottish Open – the first competition of the year for the co-ed squad. It was an early start for both our group stunts and our level 2 team. As all 35 cheerleaders boarded the coach, it wasn’t long before the extra 7am practice the day before took effect, with many Divas falling asleep! Yet the silence was soon interrupted as we reached our venue and the nervous excitement kicked in.

Our co-ed group stunt performed first, hitting a clean routine with some very quirky and creative level 4 skills. Next came the level 3 all-girl group stunt who upped their skill difficulty, executing their best routine to date. It’s safe to say that both group stunts are performing bigger and better routines at each competition and we can’t wait to see what they will achieve by the end of the season!

After lunch it was the turn of the level 2 co-ed squad and after waiting all day and watching the group stunts in the morning, the nerves had built up and everyone was determined to perform the best routine they could. However tragedy hit on the warm up mat as an unfortunate injury led to the pyramid being altered and one group being unable to stunt. It was at this point that the true Divas spirit shone through and instead of giving up the squad pulled together, supporting each other to ensure the routine they performed was the best they’ve done.

We were then delighted to discover that our level 2 co-ed squad, level 3 all-girl group stunt and co-ed level 4 group stunt had all been placed 1st in their categories – bringing what had been an incredibly long and tiring day to a successful end. Well done to everyone who competed!
